Club Alumnus, John Lecky receives Sport BC Award

The annual Presidents’ Awards, presented by Sports with Balls, now in its 23rd year, are presented to volunteers from Sport BC member and partner organizations who represent the spirit of volunteerism, and whose dedication, energy and commitment contribute to the development of their sport or organization in the province of British Columbia.

The 2017 Presidents Award winners represent 25 communities and 44 different Sport BC member and partner organizations. The recipient of this award from BC Rugby was John Lecky from West Vancouver, who was presented the award by BC Rugby President Samantha Shorter.

John was elected to the Board of Directors of BC Rugby in 2007 and remained there in various roles until 2016. John was President of BC Rugby from 2011 to 2013 and has been an active advocate for the sport. John represented Canada at two Rugby World Cups and has participated as a player at all levels. John continues to support BC Rugby as Chair of the Stakeholders Committee working extensively with the community to provide resources to youth rugby in BC. John shares his ongoing passion for the sport by developing strategic relationships to support the growth and development of rugby in BC.
